We have just five weeks left in 2022, making this the perfect time to reflect and celebrate the progress made by the quality engineering community.

Sharing Experiences, Best Practices, and Progress Towards Quality Engineering

2022 has been filled with highs and lows as software development reckons with the lasting impact of rapid digital transformation in 2020 and 2021. As we readjusted to hybrid work and life, companies needed to find new ways to make digital experiences as seamless and delightful as in-person interactions. As a result, more organizations embraced quality engineering, a discipline that incorporates quality testing throughout the development lifecycle to deliver better user experiences that cement positive customer relationships.

Gathering the Quality Community

Throughout the year, mabl hosted events designed to gather the quality and software testing community to share successes, best practices, and challenges faced. The effort was epitomized at our third annual mabl Experience, which attracted more than 1200 quality professionals around the world. Customer-centric companies like Stack Overflow, Chewy, and JetBlue took the stage to showcase how testing is helping their companies deliver exceptional digital experiences that expand their longstanding reputations for customer service.

Mabl Experience 2022 was also the first time we hosted an in-person summit in Boston. Mablers, Friends of mabl, and quality leaders joined together at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway for a lively celebration of testing and software testers. Mabl Quality Engineer Dani Paul reunites with Friend of mabl Jessica Mosley, Director of QA at Kintent at mabl Experience 2022

The testing joy, success, and impact demonstrated at mabl Experience 2022 cemented why quality is central to navigating digital transformation and DevOps adoption. We are so grateful to be empowering industry-leading quality teams across financial services, travel services, enterprise software, ecommerce, and more in their mission to deliver delightful, inclusive digital experiences to consumers.

Elevating Testing, Quality, and Quality Professionals

Throughout 2022, mabl has helped quality and testing teams share their experiences on our blog, customer stories library, and in the media. We’re honored to shed a spotlight on these inspiring teams building impactful testing strategies and share how quality is enabling development teams to create better software.

We also launched new educational and professional resources designed to help quality professionals grow their skills and their careers. The Careers in QA job board connects software testers, test engineers, and other quality professionals with organizations looking for the best and brightest to join their teams. Featuring roles from Johnson Controls, Barracuda Networks, and more, the job board welcomes companies and organizations of all sizes and needs to connect with potential employees in today’s fast-moving, highly competitive job market.

For job seekers ready for their next opportunity, mabl created mabl Certifications, self-paced programs offered in mabl University that enable quality professionals to grow their low-code test automation skills and demonstrate their newfound knowledge with badges that can be shared on LinkedIn and Careers in QA. The mabl Certification program includes two options - mabl Skills Certification: Foundations and mabl Skills Certification: Advanced - for greater growth opportunities and learning for everyone engaged in quality.

Setting Goals for 2023

None of this growth and momentum would be possible without the incredible Friends of mabl and broader quality engineering community. We’re grateful for your support, inspired by your impact, and honored to share in your success. Together, we’re transforming how software is built and users are served. The goals and success of quality engineering can be seen throughout mabl’s 2022 Testing in DevOps Report, which found that quality and testing continue to be the make-or-break factors for DevOps and digital transformation success. Whether you’re looking to take the pulse on software development trends, understand how leading teams are embracing DevOps, or looking for quality engineering inspiration, we highly recommend reading the report in full.

Thank you to everyone who joined the journey to quality engineering this year. If you’re in the United States, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
