Veteran technology executive will support rapidly growing mabl customer community in Japan

Released February 22, 2024 - mabl, the unified platform for delivering modern software quality, today announced that veteran technology executive Masato Akiyama has joined the company as their first Country Manager for Japan. Akiyama will lead mabl’s growing presence in Japan across sales, marketing, customer engineering, and customer success to support further adoption of mabl’s unified test automation platform in the Japanese market.

Since being introduced by Note in 2019, mabl has been adopted by dozens of leading companies in Japan, including NEC Corporation, Bitkey, Tokio Marine & Nichido Systems, M3, Inc., Ubie, Inc., and Relic, Inc. The mabl Japan community has grown to approximately 2,000 members, with regular events and webinars sharing best practices for software testing, test automation, DevOps, and more. In 2020, mabl also welcomed Presidio Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Sumitomo Corporation, as a strategic investor, a partnership which grew with the addition of Sumitomo Corporation subsidiary SCSK Corporation as a mabl customer in 2021. Customer growth for mabl in Japan increased nearly 56% 2022 to 2023. Mr. Akiyama’s leadership will allow mabl to deliver new levels of support to this rapidly growing customer community.

“The mabl Japan community has experienced exponential growth since starting organically in 2019. In the years since, we have grown our local team, introduced localized versions of mabl University, the mabl app, and help documentation, and created a dedicated mabl Experience user conference,” said mabl co-founder Izzy Azeri. “Mr. Akiyama’s wealth of expertise in enterprise technology will ensure our customers have even greater resources to reach their software quality, DevOps, and digital transformation goals faster than ever before.”

Mr. Akiyama brings over 25 years of experience in enterprise technology to mabl’s Japan team, having led broad cross-functional teams that encompass sales, pre-sales, product marketing, partners, and solutions engineering that engaged customers to improve development practices through new technologies. He most recently served as Regional Vice President for Snyk Japan. Prior to joining Snyk, he spent almost a decade at VMware, holding senior leadership roles in their telecommunications and edge cloud computing business.

“I am honored to be joining mabl to support the impressive companies who have chosen mabl to be their Digital Innovation technology partner,” said Masato Akiyama, Japan Country Manager, mabl. “I see a huge opportunity in Japan to help organizations transform their development processes and deliver modern software quality through the mabl’s unified platform.”
